ARC August: Week 3 Update

I have a very short attention span, so as I sat down to write this post, I could not even remember which books I'd planned to read for Week 3 of Read Sleep Repeat's ARC August challenge.  And then I had the wonderful realization that I read all three!  (Granted, I'd started one of them the previous week.)  To pat myself on the back a little more, I completed a fourth book today, and I'm halfway through number five!  Here's everything that happened in week 3:

No, The Crown of Embers is not an ARC, but I needed to read it in order to read the ARC of The Bitter Kingdom.  CoE was a bit of a letdown after The Girl of Fire and Thorns.

I was hoping this series would bounce back for me after CoE, but I have to admit that I didn't love The Bitter Kingdom.  I know that this won't be a popular opinion!

All Our Yesterdays was every bit as good as I'd hoped.  You can check out my review here.

Find Me by Romily Bernard was an enjoyable thriller about a teenage hacker..

I'm halfway through Just Like Fate.  It reminds me a lot of Pivot Point by Kasie West, but not quite as good.

Week 4: I'm going to finish Just Like Fate, and I'm going to aim to read Fangirl, Conjured, and Relativity.

As always, goals are subject to change at my every whim!

Let me know how you're doing in ARC August!

  3. Very curious about Relativity and Conjured. I was this close to requesting Conjured but resisted the urge just because I had so many. If you love it then I might go ahead and request it anyway :-) Now I'm even more eager to read The Bitter Kingdom since you aren't all swoons over it. Interesting. great progress this week Steph!

  5. I've definitely made some project-will need to figure it out at the end of the month. I totally agree about Just Like Fate being a less-good Pivot Point as that was my main impression.
