I cheated here, because this book came out last week, but I wasn't aware of it in time to post it! It's by the author of Silver Linings Playbook, and this sounds so good that I'm content to wait on it.

In general, when it comes to this kind of stories, the protagonist ends up not killing himself, so I wonder whether Leonard will kill himself or not.
