From Goodreads synopsis: In the second book of the Arcana Chronicles Evie has now fully come into her powers as the tarot Empress. And Jackson was there to see it all. In the aftermath of killing Arthur, the tarot Alchemist, Evie realizes that a war is brewing between the other teens that, following the apocalypse, have been given powers and its kill or be killed.
Things get even more complicated when Evie meets Death, the mysterious, sexy Endless Knight. Somehow the Empress and Death share a romantic history - one that Evie can't remember, but Death can't forget. She is drawn to the Endless Knight, but is in love with Jack. Determined to discover why she's been granted these powers, Evie struggles to accept her place in a prophecy that will either save the world, or completely destroy it.

It's still crazy to me to think that Kresley Cole, who writes STEAMY adult paranormal romance, transitioned to YA so well. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, Poison Princess (you can check out that review here), and I can't wait to see what's coming next!

I did a little dance when I saw that I'm number one on the waiting list for this book at my city library. I loved Poison Princess. And Death was just a teaser character in it. Can't wait for more of him.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it SUCH a nice feeling to be first in the queue??? I love that, too. :)
DeleteI don't know if I've even heard of Poison Princess! I'll have to look it up and read your review.

I wasn't sure if I'd continue this series, but I keep seeing this sequel around, and I'm still pretty intrigued by that whole tarot business. I'm just too curious for my own good. :P Great pick!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Poison Princess yet, but this synopsis intrigues me. This sounds like a fun love triangle and sometimes I'm just in the mood for some ridiculous amounts of angst. lol

I'm not familiar with this series at all but I think it's really cool that she transitioned to YA so well. Another author I like who did that is Sophie Jordan with her drakon series.
